Born in 1989 the artist behind Vlfgrim, Cass McLean, was born and raised in North Florida on a steady diet of ghost stories, urban legends and haunted virgin forests. 

 

Their work reaches into religious iconography and mythological constructs, combining them in an effort to speak to the wild spaces that are pushed further into oblivion in an age of technology, practicality, and rejection of the fantastic. Using methods developed from Classical techniques  to render impossible and complex reality, Vlfgrim works to open doors to the demimonde and allow the mysterious back into the world.
